Pagans say: Keep so-called
‘male witch’ locked away.

The Pagan Awareness Network Incorporated (PAN Inc), an
association that represents witches, Pagans, and
followers of other nature-based faiths, is writing to
Victoria’s
Department of Justice this week urging them to
maintain an extended supervision order against
convicted sex-offender Robin Angus Fletcher.
“This is not a man we want walking the streets,” PAN
Inc president David Garland said today.
Fletcher was sentenced in 1997 to ten years jail for
raping
two fifteen
year-old girls under the pretext of a ‘Pagan
initiation.’
“What Fletcher did has nothing to do with the
legitimate beliefs and practices of Pagans,” Mr
Garland said. “Trying to claim a religious motive for
his actions is abhorrent. It demonstrates he is still
not rehabilitated, and that’s why he needs to remain
under intensive supervision.”
“Robin Fletcher should remain behind the walls of
Ararat Prison until he can admit that what he did was
wrong by the standards of any religion,” Mr Garland
added. “Unfortunately it appears from his behaviour
while in prison that he is far from rehabilitated.”
In 2005 Fletcher was found to be ‘grooming’ potential
victims via correspondence with individuals in
Ghana.
“The bottom line is that the community needs to be
protected from predators like Fletcher,” Mr Garland
said. “His supposed religion doesn’t make any
difference to that.”
