Letter to the Scrutiny of Acts and Regulations Committee
(with regard to the Victorian Vagrancy Act of 1966, currently up for re-evaluation)

Dear Simon,

I am the Secretary and media officer of the Pagan Awareness Network Inc.
www.paganawareness.net.au. It has only today come to our attention that this
act is up for re-evaluation, and while I am aware that the closing date for
submissions is long past, I'd like to tender our support for the repeal or
amendment of Section 13 to recognise the right of all Australians to
practise their spirituality in whichever way they see fit, as guaranteed
under Chapter 5 Section 116 of the Australian Constitution, in article 18 of
the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ratified by the
Australian Government in 1980) and supported by the Human Rights and Equal
Opportunity Commission Article 18 Chapter 3 Sections 10 and 11.

As these are issues of ongoing interest to us as an organisation, are we
able to be kept up to date with any developments in this matter?
